Bursaries
Kingston Christian School (KCS) is committed to making Christian education accessible to families who value it. To support this commitment, we have established and strive to maintain the KCS Bursary Fund, which assists families facing financial challenges in meeting full tuition costs.
The KCS Bursary Fund is funded through a designated portion of yearly tuition revenue as well as donors in the community. We also partner with the Christian School Foundation (CSF) to receive bursary funding. It is our hope that beneficiaries will in the future become donors to the fund, and give back to support others who need assistance.
Bursaries are awarded based on the needs of the applicant(s) and the availability of bursary funds.
Upon receipt of bursary applications, the Bursary Committee will review and award a tuition bursary, which carries with it no obligation of repayment. All applications are confidential and reviewed with genuine respect. Welcome and Partnership Bursaries are made possible through our partnership with CSF.
Application Process
To apply for a bursary, please keep the following steps and timeframes in mind. Earlier applications have a greater chance of receiving the amount requested so we recommend you start the application process as soon as possible.
All applications received will be treated equally. After that, if additional monies are available, bursaries will be awarded on a first come, first served basis.
Step 1: Apply for enrollment at Kingston Christian School.
Step 2: Review eligibility for needs-based bursary by reviewing Appendix A.
Step 3: Complete FAST application – the deadline is March 1. Bursaries will only be granted for applications submitted after these deadlines if there are funds available, regardless of a family’s ability to qualify.
Step 4: Upload your tax assessments and any other documents to verify the information on your application as soon as possible once your income taxes are assessed. The deadline to upload your documentation is April 30.
Completed applications will generally be reviewed in the order in which they are received. Please note that the Bursary Committee may have one of its members contact applicants for clarification of information on applications. We will also do our best to inform you if there is any missing information required for your application to be reviewed.
Applicants will receive written notification regarding the outcome of their application by April 1 for those who apply by the deadline, and within two weeks for those applying after the deadline. Supporting tax documentation is required by April 30.

KCS utilizes the online service of Independent School Management’s Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST) for all applications. FAST does not decide whether financial assistance will be given or how much to give; rather FAST provides a need-based financial aid analysis service which includes a recommendation of what a family should reasonably contribute toward tuition.
All information from FAST is kept confidential. The application process is self-guided. You may navigate in and out of the program, allowing you to partially complete an application and go back to it at another time.
FAST has a 24/7/365 helpline available to you should you have any technical questions, which can be reached by
calling 1-877-326-FAST (2378). For any other questions, please refer to the guide.
The fee for the application is $53.00 USD and is to be paid after all sections have been completed.
You may begin the FAST application process before you have received your Notice of Assessment.
