Extracurriculars
KCS students have the opportunity to participate in several extracurricular activities throughout the year.
While the specific list of opportunities each year varies based on interest from learners, as well as available staff and parent volunteer support, our robust extracurricular offerings allow each KCS learner has the opportunity to develop their God given talents and express themselves creatively during their studies.
Sports
The KCS Wings sports teams compete regularly against local independent schools and, in certain sports, against regional Christian independent schools. In recent years, our student athletes have taken home top prizes in sports like track and field and soccer. Our high school is a member of the Ontario Christian Secondary School Athletic Association.
KCS features a regulation-size gym, enabling students to learn about sports such as volleyball, basketball, soccer, track and field, and badminton both through extracurricular activities, intramurals, and during their physical health curriculum.
Clubs, Competitions, and Special Events
In recent years, KCS has featured a Chess club, arts clubs, math, and baking.
KCS annually sends students to the Frontenac Lennox & Addington Science Fair, and regularly enters the annual Battle of the Books fall reading contest. In addition to our annual Christmas show, KCS students occasionally host an art show, musical,
or other similar performance subject to student interest and staff availability.
Student art is regularly displayed throughout the school – you can’t miss it on your next tour!
Field Trips
Students typically participate in no fewer than four field trips per year, visiting local farms, museums, workplaces, and similar, with occasional trips within the broader eastern Ontario region to places such as the Brockville Aquatarium or Upper Canada Village.
